New Student Orientation Marks Start of Fall 2025 at USM

August 17, 2025

The University of St. Martin proudly welcomed its Fall 2025 incoming class during a successful orientation on August 15. Students connected with Division Heads, faculty, and alumni while receiving essential guidance to start the semester strong. Classes begin Monday, August 18.
The well-attended orientation was a success, ensuring students received the key information needed before the start of the semester. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with their respective Division Heads in smaller sessions, where they asked questions and received personalized academic guidance. Division Heads also reminded students that they remain available throughout the semester for academic advising by appointment, email, or open-door office visits.

The orientation featured presentations from USM’s management team, faculty, staff, and alumni. Among the highlights was the participation of alumna Ria Khudan, past Treasurer of the Student Ambassador Program and past President of the Student Government Association, who inspired students by sharing her journey at USM and beyond.

The USM family also warmly welcomed back recent graduate and Student Ambassador, Yoshiko Barnes, who is continuing her academic path by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Her return reflects USM’s role in supporting students not only as they begin, but also as they continue climbing their academic ladder.

Though the orientation program was slightly shortened as a precaution for the passing of Hurricane Erin, students left prepared and motivated. USM President Dr. Antonio Carmona Báez emphasized the priority of student safety, while celebrating the success of the day:

“Our students left prepared with the knowledge and support they need to begin this new chapter. USM is more than a university, it is a community where we learn, grow, and achieve together.”

The University of St. Martin looks forward to the official start of the Fall 2025 Semester on Monday, August 18, as students, faculty, and staff come together to soar higher in fulfilling dreams and achieving goals.
