USM Expands Faculty Digital Skills via Moodle Training Class
February 2, 2026
USM faculty participate in hands-on Moodle training to enhance digital teaching, grading efficiency, and student learning experiences, reinforcing the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
USM continues to invest in strengthening digital teaching and learning by providing ongoing training opportunities for faculty. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, USM hosted a faculty training session on campus focused on effective use of the Moodle learning management system.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Marcus Nicholas, who guided faculty members through key areas of the Moodle portal, including navigation, assignment setup, grading processes, and detailed grade management techniques. The training was designed to support both new and returning faculty in maximizing the platform’s capabilities to enhance student learning and streamline course administration.
Returning faculty members also attended the session, noting that while they are already familiar with the Moodle portal, the training served as a valuable refresher. These sessions provide opportunities for faculty to continue building and mastering their digital teaching skills in an ever-evolving educational environment.
USM will continue hosting these training sessions throughout the semester, with upcoming workshops expected to dive deeper into additional features, including expanded use of the student portal and advanced course management tools.
The University of St. Martin remains committed to ensuring that faculty stay up to date with current educational technologies, student applications, and academic processes. By investing in continuous professional development, USM supports high-quality teaching and learning experiences for both faculty and students.
