USM Promotes GED Opportunities Through Community Outreach

February 2, 2026

USM continues community outreach efforts to encourage persons to complete their secondary education through the GED Program. Recently, USM shared information on SOS Radio, highlighting opportunities for individuals ready to take the next step toward education and career growth.
The team at USM is encouraging prospective students to take the next step toward completing their secondary education by applying for the upcoming GED semester, which begins on February 23, 2026.

As part of ongoing community outreach efforts, USM recently participated in radio interviews to share information about the GED program, admission process, and student support services. USM GED Coordinator Lisa Burnett and USM Marketing Consultant Shobhan Giterson participated in a live interview on SOS Radio with host Fernando Clarke, where they discussed how the program provides an important second chance for individuals ready to complete their secondary education.

The GED (General Education Development) Program provides an alternative pathway for individuals who did not complete traditional high school but are ready to earn an equivalent qualification. The program prepares students in core subject areas including English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, equipping them with the academic foundation needed for employment opportunities or further studies.

USM continues to emphasize that it is never too late to continue one’s education. The GED program is designed to support adult learners, working individuals, and anyone seeking a second chance to achieve their educational goals in a supportive learning environment.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure placement for the upcoming semester.

For more information on the GED Program or how to apply, persons can contact the University of St. Martin or visit the campus for guidance and registration support.

Classes begin: February 23, 2026
