WIB Sponsors New Signage to Elevate USM Campus Visibility
July 11, 2025
The Windward Islands Bank is partnering with USM to sponsor a new, modern campus sign, improving visibility and professional image. Installation begins July 20 and is part of broader efforts to enhance campus accessibility and public engagement.
USM is set to receive a major visual upgrade thanks to the generous support of the Windward Islands Bank (WIB). The bank has approved financing for the design and installation of a new USM campus sign, replacing the outdated and obstructed signage currently in place.
The project is scheduled to begin during the week of July 20, 2025, and will significantly improve the university’s visibility from the street both day and night. More than just a cosmetic change, the new sign aims to foster a welcoming campus atmosphere and create a stronger presence within the community.
“Enhancing visibility helps reinforce USM’s image as a vibrant center of learning and civic engagement,” said USM President Dr. Antonio Carmona Báez. “We are grateful to WIB for recognizing the importance of campus identity and public access.”
The existing sign is currently hidden and obstructed, while the proposed location for the new signage promises a striking and accessible visual landmark.
USM sees this investment as more than just a physical enhancement it’s a symbol of renewed partnership between the university and the local business community. With continued support from stakeholders like WIB, USM aims to further strengthen its infrastructure, increase public outreach, and expand opportunities for its students and faculty alike.
