Admission

Associate and Bachelor Degrees


— Application fee $25.00 (additional $15 after deadline)
— Original high school diploma.
— Original high school transcripts (must be sealed and stamped).
— Exam results (CXC, HAVO, Pre-USM, GED, BAC if applicable).
— A personal essay.
— Two passport pictures.
— Copy of passport (verified at USM).
— Proof of residency and /or registration form.
— Affidavit of financial support (forms are available at USM) or download under forms.

Secondary Teaching Certificate and Master Degrees


— Bachelor degree
— A personal essay
— Two passport pictures
— Copy of passport (verified at USM)
— Proof of residency/registration form
— Affidavit of financial support (forms are available at USM).
Matriculation requirements: after 2nd year
— Police record of good conduct
— Declaration of good health
— Psychological and Career Test
— Testing by a voice specialist
— Pass an assessment test in English, Mathematics, Geography and History (Social Studies), Nature, and Technology.
— Successfully pass the first year of the General Education requirements at USM with a GPA of 2.33, as approved by the project "UVl@USM."
— Successfully pass, with a minimum of a "C," Education courses: EDU 100, EDU 108, EDU 120, EDU 150, EDU 160, and EDU 170.

GED

ESL

Applications can be completed and submitted online under admissions or by visiting the University of St. Martin campus at Soualiga Boulevard #1, Pond Island, Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
The standard application fee is $25.00. The fee increases to $40.00 after the deadline.

At USM we offer a diverse set of programs for all academic levels.

Non-Degree courses:


Nondegree courses are certificate and diploma level programs. These courses are designed to provide specific skills, knowledge, within a short time. without the full commitment of pursuing a degree.

Adult Literacy Program (ALP)

Continuing Education Program (CEP).

The Degree Programs:


The degree programs are typically more comprehensive and in-depth compared to non-degree courses. The duration of completion can range from 2 - 5 years (based on the amount of credits taken per semester).

General
At USM we offer monthly payment plans that require approval from the Business Office and available to all programs. While USM doesn't directly provide scholarships throughout the semester, students and accepted applicants may have access to financial grants from partnering institutes. We encourage everyone to stay updated on financial aid opportunities and announcements by following USM's social media channels and regularly checking the university website for the latest updates.

We also encourage you to check out other financial bodies such as Study Financing and Study In the Region
USM provides students with access to a computer lab and library facilities, which they can utilize for purposes such as completing assignments, conducting research, or printing documents. Wifi access is available to all students, staff, and faculty on the campus.
